DESCRIPTION:The Annual San Ysidro STEM Fair is a co-created celebration of curiosity, community, and opportunity. Each spring, families, students, schools, and partners come together to lower barriers and open doors to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education and careers.\nChaired by the Fleet Science Center, the San Ysidro STEM Committee is proud to mark the 5th anniversary of this free, equity-centered, family fair. An event built with the community, for the community.\nIn 2025, more than 45 exhibitors inspired students and families with:\n\nLearning demonstrations led by San Ysidro District‘s Sci Phy program teachers\nRobotics demos led by San Ysidro High School’s Cougarbots team\nPhysiology demos led by San Ysidro High School‘s MEDICS Club\nHands-on learning with local scientists and STEM career role models\nLocal scientists and STEM career role models\nSTEM student performances\nCommunity resources connecting families with opportunities\nRaffles and giveaways\n\n¡Gracias, comunidad!\nSpecial thanks to the many organizations and community champions who made the fair possible:\n\nSan Ysidro School District, Dr. Gina Potter\nSan Ysidro School District’s Sci Phy Teachers, Liana Davis, Melissa Hasemyer\nSan Ysidro High School Student Volunteers\nSan Ysidro Cougarbots Team, Carrie Northum\nSan Ysidro Branch Library\nSan Ysidro Women’s Club\nSouth Bay Community Services\nCasa Familiar’s Promotoras\nSan Ysidro Health\nUCSD MRSEC\n\n
